Tesla Roadster -- n/a bhp, 250mph (claimed)
Making no sound whatsoever, on the other hand, is Tesla's first entry into the supercar bear-pit. This 's fine though -- Twitter and internet forums make more than enough noise to compensate for your silence of electric motors. In the event the new Roadster ever does see the light of day, we're guaranteed a 620-mile selection, performance to embarrass a Bugatti, and for a relatively reasonable $200,000. It could be a utopian supercar. All Tesla has to do is bring it to market in time.
Mercedes-AMG Project One -- 1,000bhp , 217mph
No-one outside of AMG has yet driven the Mercedes F1 car for the road known so far just as Project One, but its stats are suitably barmy to make the cut in this list. Revealed in time for its 2017 Frankfurt motor show, the supreme AMG guarantees to launch in 0-124mph in under six seconds, meaning that thanks to its AWD hybrid traction, it'll eliminate the line as fast as a real F1 car. While, ideally, creating a much neater noise...
Ferrari 812 Superfast -- 789bhp, 211mph
We live in a mad, crazy world. One of many pieces of evidence this is true is that the fact that Ferrari's series-production big-booted GT car is powered by a 789bhp V12 that'll send it beyond 62mph in 2.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 211mph. If that is among the last of the traditional V12 supercars, until hybrids and turbos finally kill them off, then what a thing to do.
Hennessey Exorcist -- 1,000bhp, n/a miles
Of course, Texan horsepower fetishist John Hennessey couldn't let Dodge enjoy the spoils of war for long without issuing his own unleaded-swilling riposte -- using a cheeky name to boot. The Exorcist is, as you can see, according to a Camaro ZL1 (or even the more monitor focused 1LE, should you want ), and, ahem, trumps the Dodge option by creating 1,000bhp. The best speed is so far unknown, but as the 0-60mph period is sub 3sec, we believe that you 'll agree it deserves a place among 2017's very unhinged performance automobiles.
Jeep Trackhawk -- 707bhp, 180mph
Remember the Dodge Demon from a few slides past? The madder, badder Hellcat? Course you do. Now imagine the quantity of dreadful light beer consumed with the person who came up with the idea of slotting the 707bhp variation of said supercharged V8 into the Jeep Grand Cherokee. This, not the Lamborghini Urus, is the most effective SUV of 2017. 'Murica one, Italy, nil
Bentley Continental Supersports -- 700bhp, 209mph
Bet you'd forgotten about this one. Yes, just before Bentley wowed us with all the sleeker, more raffish brand new Continental GT, it created a Supersports version of the incoming vehicle. And the headline was quite simply this: seven hundred horsepower. And yes, that's appropriate Victorian British imperial horsepower. It's not the most soulful car on this listing by a margin, but that really is actually the reigning rate champ one of Bentleys, also incongruously magnificent as a result.
